The transition period from military to civvy street is a daunting process to many people, with so much to organise, including, finding accommodation, schooling for the kids, and which courses you should undertake during your resettlement period.
One of the most important decisions that you will make is deciding which career route you will follow and that is where we can assist.
A career in recruitment is not the obvious choice for service leavers, in fact, only 5% of service leavers who have completed our courses this year and are now employed in the industry, had decided when leaving that they wanted to move into recruitment.
You will probably have joined the Armed Forces at a young age and never had a need to utilise the services of a recruitment agency and therefore not have a proper understanding of what the role and the industry involves.
You may have come across a recruitment consultant when searching for work and had a bad experience, as the recruiter has no experience of working with service leavers and has no understanding of the military terminology, technologies or skills and therefore dismissed your CV simply down to the fact of having no understanding of what you do or what you can offer.
Many Service Leavers think that they do not have the qualifications or experience to move into recruitment, and generally do not have enough information of the industry to make a career in recruitment an ‘obvious choice’.
A career in recruitment is very rewarding with so much job satisfaction. Imagine, being the person who assists someone in securing a job who has been unemployed for several months, who has a family to support, imagine the joy that you will bring to that person, to his family, how would that make you feel?
A career in recruitment will give you financial security, and once you have a minimum of 2 years experience, you will never be out of work, as recruitment consultants are in demand all over the world, and your career progression is down to you.
